Visible upswing in maritime industry

SMM has once again lived up to its reputation as the "must attend" event in the shipbuilding calendar. With 50,000 trade visitors from all over the world, we are very proud to report that SMM 2010, the 24th shipbuilding, machinery & marine technology international trade fair, was hailed an enormous success by exhibitors and visitors alike. This figure is complemented by the record number of exhibitors (2,008) from 58 countries who occupied the entire 90,000 sq m of exhibition space. No other maritime trade fair boasts such a high proportion of international exhibitors and visitors with international representatives from all key maritime sectors in attendance.

A whole range of new innovations was presented at SMM 2010. Green technology was a major theme - with companies addressing the need to meet today's rising standards for more sustainable and environment-friendly shipping. Parallel to the exhibition, SMM 2010 also featured a stimulating supporting programme of conferences and workshops. Cost-efficiency, environmental protection, ship finance and offshore technology were high on the agenda - and as always SMM provided participants with unmatched business and networking opportunities.
