What subject areas does SMM include?

The range of subjects includes large-scale industrial engineering for ships and shipyards, ship equipment and fittings, cargo handling systems, offshore engineering, maritime services, and much more. A detailed list of subjects is given in the List of Categories and the Hall Plan.

Are there any other maritime events at the Hamburg Fair?

SMM has two overseas offshoots:

•  SMM Istanbul  - 26 - 28 January 2011
•  SMM India     - 4 – 6 April 2013

How many exhibitors and visitors were there at the last SMM?

There were 2,003 exhibitors at SMM 2010, and 50,000 trade visitors.

What deadlines do I have to observe?

  • Deadline for catalogue entry: May 2012

What are the prices for SMM?

How can I register myself or co-exhibitors for SMM?

You can register for SMM in writing (fax, post) or online. An overview is shown here

Is registration binding?

Yes. As specified in our Specific Terms of Participation

What costs are incurred if I cancel my registration?

Cancellation before approval costs EUR 300. After approval, 25% or 100% of the participation fee is charged. For further details, see our Specific Terms of Participation and General Terms of Participation .

When am I an approved exhibitor?

Please note:

  • Sending in the registration form does not constitute a right to approval.
  • Return of the completed and signed registration form to HMC constitutes an offer by the Exhibitor, and is subject to acceptance by HMC. After receipt of the placement proposal, approval is sent by the SMM Team.

What is the deadline for registration?

The last date for registration for SMM 2012 is 14 October 2011.

Your data for catalogue entry must be sent to us by May 2012 at the latest.
